Fauxtique Update: A Recap
A big thanks to all who made it out this weekend for the fauxtique! It was a smashing success, thanks to all of you. And we lucked out and didn't have any rain. Hallelujah! For those of you who weren't able to make it, here's what it looked like:

I made six chalkboard doors and they all sold except this adorable teal one:

(Yes, it's still for sale. I dropped the price to $85.)
I still have plenty available, and will be posting it all within the next couple days. I have chicken wire frames, chalkboards, a mirror (creamy white distressed), an armoire (creamy white distressed and glazed), a few pairs of shutters, and several other items. Check back frequently and email fivetoninefurnishings@yahoo.com if you're interested. And in other good news it looks like this fauxtique is going to be a semi-annual event! I'll probably do another one in March or April. I'll let you know well in advance so you can mark your calendars. Thank you, thank you, thank you for coming!!

Fauxtique Update: Part III & A Before and After
Today has been another crazy day. Here are a few more of the things I've finished that will be available for purchase this Saturday (in two days!) from 8 a.m.-noon.
L-R: Black magnetic chalkboard door ($135), white chippy door ($55), Black magnetic chalkboard door ($135)
And here's the other chalkboard door! This one will be $95. No, it's not magnetic.
I also finished a creamy white chicken wire frame and a couple more black distressed chalkboards. Oh, and some teal chicken wire frames. (No pictures. Sorry! They're buried in the pile now and I can't get to them.) Come, come, come! There will be something for everyone, I promise. I have several $1 and $2 items and many things for $10 and under.

And on a slightly different note, remember this cute little bench that was for sale a week ago? One of my favorite clients asked me to paint it creamy white for her and distress it. Here's the end product:

Fauxtique Update: Part II
As promised, here's a little update on the items I've finished that will be available to purchase this Saturday (Please excuse the poor pictures; I'm spending less time on staging and taking pictures and more time on cranking out more items.):
Two Piece Armoire, creamy white, glazed ($250ish)
French Provincial Bedroom Set. Also comes with a large white mirror that has a scroll on top. Can be purchased individually or as a set. Mirror will be $85 ish, night stand will be $85 ish, desk/vanity will be $125 ish, tall boy dresser will be $215 ish, headboard and footboard (not sure what size; I still need to measure...) will be $100 ish.
Ditto
4 Drawer Dresser ($100 ish)
Black Distressed Queen Anne Headboard (only--no footboard) ($95 ish)
(I love doing fun colors. They just don't sell as quickly as black and white. But after a gallon each of black and white, I had to do something different. Fingers crossed that it sells...)
Anyway, I'm still working night and day to make sure I have lots and lots of great stuff. I'll do another update on Friday. Remember, this Saturday, 8 a.m.-noon. Cash, credit, and debit* accepted. You won't want to miss this!
(*A 3% fee will be charged for all credit/debit transactions.)

Hell Has Officially Frozen Over...
I swore I would never, ever do another boutique in my life. Ever. They're so much work, time, effort, money... The list is never-ending. But. I have a dilemma. My garage is bursting. Literally bursting. When I open the door, doors and windows and shutters start falling out all over the place. My back porch looks like Good Will on steroids. And my side yard and front porch... Let's just say I'm grateful none of my neighbors have called the city for code compliance. (Fingers crossed and knock on wood.) Basically, I am saturated to the brim and need to purge in the very worst way. So. Here's the deal. There will be no fancy Photoshop invites, no advertising other than right here, no going into a mad dash and neglecting my kids so I can get just one more chicken wire frame painted...
Instead, on November 19th from 8 until noon I'm going to pull out everything I have that I am ready to get rid of. That may or may not include several more benches (Maybe, MAYBE, even Seussical. I'm not sure on that one yet. I'll get back to you. I will say if it goes up for grabs it will be for a ridiculous amount because any less than that would not be worth giving it up.), my five piece black, distressed bedroom furniture set that has so many scrolls and curves that I drool every time I look at it, some red shutters with scrolls, of course plenty of chicken wire frames, and... oh, I don't know. How about everything that I have in the garage/back porch/side yard/front porch? Oh, and a darling black distressed kitchen table that's 55" x 55" and has four adorable chairs and a coordinating bench. Basically, it's time to gut.
But don't expect anything fancy, please. I'm not going to clear out my house or rent a booth or have a bunch of other vendors here or anything of that nature at all. Instead, I'm going to do it by myself without other vendors and just plop everything out on my front lawn with some price tags. And, the price tags might not even be Photoshopped or written on cute scrapbook paper. Gasp! I know. So, I guess it's not really a boutique. It's like a fauxtique. Anyway, mark your calendars. NOVEMBER 19th. 8 a.m.-noon. I'll give more updates as it gets closer, and perhaps a few sneak peaks... Over and out.
(*P.S.: Even though there won't be other vendors here, Juniper's Loft across the street is going to set up a bunch of her stuff, too. We will keep everything separate, but I guarantee between the two of us there will be plenty of great stuff.)

Boutique Recap
Thank you to everyone who came to the boutique. If you missed it, here are a few pictures:
A huge thank you to Jenny at Juniper's Loft. She very graciously hosted us all and gave up her beautiful house for nearly a week! She has some really cool furniture, and I know she has plans to post a lot more soon. One of my favorites is this storage bench. Be sure to check out all the great things she will be posting, namely magnet boards, chalkboards, end tables, and a couple other benches!

Something's Gotta Give...
The boutique is T-10 days away, and I feel like I'm going a tad bit crazy. Okay, maybe a lot crazy! See for yourself the madness that has become my back yard:
I keep stressing that I don't have enough, so I go buy more. Think I should stop yet?
So in reference to the title of this post, something absolutely has got to give. It's not my kids, my husband, my house, my church responsibilities, nor the boutique. So the item up on the chopping block is blogging. Or should I say good blogging. I just don't have time to stage pictures, take dimensions, type detailed posts, etc., until after the boutique. So here's my compromise. Every other day or so I'm just going to take pictures of what I'm working on. Disclaimer: They are not good pictures, and I'm fully aware of that. Hopefully they'll give you an idea of what Five to Nine will have at the boutique, though. Here's the first batch:
Loving this antique mirror.
I'm working on a little girl's bedroom set. Here's part of what it will include. (That's a handmade ruffled lamp shade with a coordinating shabby chic banner. I have got to reproduce a little girl. Stat.)
And of course, I have to have some chicken wire frames:
I'm kind of in love with this little kid's time out bench. Soon it will say time out at the top, compliments of my vinyl friend.
That's all for now. Tomorrow's agenda includes five Sugarboo frames, two chicken wire frames, a bench!!!, and some more fabric flowers.
