Before and After: Jade Desk

As promised, here's the before:

I'm really liking this new jade color. I coated it with several coats of primer, three coats of paint, and a spray on polycrilic. I lightly distressed it and gave the original hardware a good polishing before reattaching it. It's a good thing I don't have room in my house. I would have had a hard time parting with this colorful piece! Watch for more jade pieces like this one...

It sold at the fauxtique to my friend Jenny over at Envy My Cooking. She decided she wanted it a cool teal/green/jade color and asked if I would paint it. Here it is halfway done:

I'm waiting for the paint to dry fully before distressing and adding the hardware. Tune in tomorrow morning/afternoon for the completed before and after shots.

Petite Desk

For sale is a charming petite desk that measures 31" wide x 18" deep x 30" high. This compact piece of furniture would be ideal in a little girl's room, or could easily function as a sewing or craft table. It is solid and sturdy but needs some aesthetic work; there are a few small scratches in it as well as some spots and stains. It would be a great painting project. Room Store TV Stand

For sale is a TV stand that was originally purchased from The Room Store. It appears to be solid oak as it is very heavy and solid. It is in very good condition; there are only a few minor scuffs on the top of it. (*Reference picture. Price has been adjusted accordingly.) The three doors all open well. The side doors have slide outs for CDs/DVDs; one is missing on the right-hand side. The middle area has ample room for storage and there is a cut out to put cords through. The Post wherein I Lament the Fact that I Still Do Not Have a Daughter (A.K.A. Vintage Vanity, Headboard, & Footboard)

I am dying--DYING--that I don't have a daughter. Really. Really??? Just look at this set:I nearly peed my pants when I saw it. I barely had the truck in park before I grabbed my wallet and literally jumped out of it to examine this little beauty.
I am very seriously tempted to hang on to this for, oh, I don't know, 10-15 years until I actually might produce a daughter who might possibly be old enough to use this set.
Sadly (for me), Mr. Five to Nine likes having room in our garage for important things like cars, and refuses to devote any more space to my furniture obsession.





For sale is a darling vintage set circa 1902 that is composed of a desk/vanity, a mirror, a full headboard, and a full footboard. This adorable set is in good, not perfect, condition; there are some minor scuffs and bumps on it that do not impact the overall beauty of the piece.
