And here's the after:

Reduced Prices

Whew! It's been one interesting summer so far, folks! Sorry for the lack of posts for the past couple weeks. I'm ready to get back into the swing of things, though. And, to start it off right, let's lower some prices, shall we?
Night Stand: $50
Black Scrolly Bench: $95
Shabby Chic Shutters with Frames and Crystal Knobs: $50 per set; 3 sets available
(These are really large. They would look great around a TV.)
Magnetic Board: $70
Now, on to other business. I've had several calls, emails, and texts about the black distressed TV stand. I am soooo sorry that I haven't posted decent pictures with a write up. It will be done soon, I promise. As in tomorrow or Thursday. And as for the hutch, I think Mr. Five to Nine can FINALLY help me finish it up tomorrow. Again, I'm not promising anything because if my little cherubs were as wonderful as they were today I will get NOTHING done. (In fact, I will digress. Two steps forward and five steps back...) But, I still have high hopes. Be sure to check back for lots of updates this week. I promise to get my rear in gear.

Some Updates

Well, my kids didn't cooperate. What a surprise. So I only got the night stand and the TV stand done. I have a few family matters I have to work on this week so I will be unavailable from now until Monday to answer emails or phone calls. I thought I'd whet your appetite, though, and give you a hint of what's going to be for sale on Monday. (I will have much better pictures that are actually staged then as well as dimensions.)

Remember this?
It is now this:

I don't love how the caning looks distressed so I'll probably paint over that part at the bottom.

And here's the before on the TV stand one more time:
And the (unstaged) after:

Try to imagine it without the poor lighting, the BBQ grill, and the punching bag. It will look great Monday when I get it staged and take decent pictures that actually cooperate with the lighting outside.

And just for fun I thought I'd throw in a picture of this dresser I just finished for a friend:
I forgot to take a before picture, but it was basically a honey-oak wood color. This one isn't for sale.

Anyway, have a great week and check back Monday for some better pictures and new items. I'm hoping to have the hutch done by then, too.

Before & During: Hutch & TV Stand

Well, I lied. I folded and painted the TV stand black after all. There were a bunch of reasons why and I'll spare you the boring details, but it boiled down to black again. I promise someday I will get the courage to paint a bigger piece a fun color. For now I'm a wimp and am sticking to what I know sells. Boring, I know. Anyway, Mr. Five to Nine ended up working most of the weekend, so we didn't get it sprayed until today. Here's the before:
And here's the during:

Awful pictures, I know, but you get the idea. I did this one a semi-gloss black and plan on lightly distressing it tomorrow. I went ahead and kept the original hardware on this one but painted it black.
And in other news, look at this beauty I ran across this weekend during my furniture hunting:

Again, bad pictures but we painted this one black as well. For the backing we did a mustard yellow damask print instead of wainscoting. This piece will also get a light distressing tomorrow.
And since we had a bit of paint left in the sprayer, we gave this little hexagon table a couple of quick coats of black semi-gloss. It will also get a light distressing tomorrow.

If my kids cooperate and all goes as planned, I will post some after pictures tomorrow. The TV stand will be $350, the night stand will be $35, and I'm still not sure on pricing for the hutch yet.

TV Stand/Buffet Update

Remember how I posted about this last week?
Ummm... It's still not done. We have been fighting the flu over here at Five to Nine. Now that it has sufficiently made the rounds and we are on the road to recovery, I'm going to try to take another stab at it this weekend. I've received a plethora of emails, calls, and texts requesting that I do this a fun color, so I just might be brave and give it a try. I must warn you all, though. If I do it a funky color and it doesn't sell I may just end up painting everything white and black from now on. :)

Anyway, stay tuned. I am trying to bribe Mr. Five to Nine into helping me spray it tomorrow (Saturday) so it can dry Sunday and then I'll distress it Monday. If all goes as planned I'll post a few pictures of it painted Saturday afternoon.

I also had a few people ask about the specifics on it. It measures 64" wide x 24" deep x 42" high and the price will be around $350 (give or take). I will either switch out the hardware or paint it. I'm not sure yet on that. As for color, I'm leaning towards a peacock blue like this:
...a mustard yellow like this:
...or an emerald jade like this:
Feel free to weigh in on your color choice if you'd like.

Crowded House TV Stand

(*All credit/debit transactions will be charged a 3% fee.)
