Saturday Steals

I have long since been on the prowl for a king headboard for my bedroom and low and behold, look what I found Saturday morning:The caning! (Fully intact, no less.) The finials! And the scrolls! I can't hardly stand it. And for $5 I just could not pass it up. You heard right. Five! And don't worry. I'll post before and after pictures. Let's see, if I'm doing the headboard, I might as well do a new dresser. And if I'm doing the dresser, why not the night stand? And if I'm doing the night stand, I can't very well leave the room color the same. And if I'm changing the room color I'm going to need new bedding and decor. If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, anyone? Man, I love my job...

Mahogany Levitz Credenza

For sale is a striking mahogany credenza that was originally purchased from Levitz for over $800. This striking piece of furniture is solid wood and very well built. The drawers and doors all open easily, and is in near-perfect condition. The measurements are 46" wide x 28" deep x 36" high. $175. Local pick up in Mesa, AZ only. Chalkboard Mirror

I recently came across a beautiful scrolly mirror at an estate sale. The only problem was that the middle portion of the mirror was broken and the rest of it was a grungy black and gold color. My initial intent was to get another piece of mirror cut for the middle portion. The more I started looking at it, though, the more I wanted to try a chalkboard in the center portion. A few coats of my favorite creamy white later and voila! A custom chalkboard mirror. I normally don't tell my buy prices on my blog for obvious reasons but since I don't plan on selling this one I'm tickled to say that I bought this for just $3! As in 1, 2, 3!!
